Dyson DC 24 - dyson ball
The Dyson DC24 is equipped with the Dyson ball technology, which means it sits on a ball, making it turn on a dime. The DC24 is not the most powerful Dyson vacuum (115 air-watts vs 220 air-watts from the DC15 and the DC25), but it makes up for less power by being lightweight.
The lightweight Dyson DC24 weighs in at only 11.5 lbs, making it easy to transport up and down stairs. If you are so inclined, the vacuum itself can be used to clean stairs without the need for the hose attachment, but the hose is also a good alternative. The handle is conveniently placed in the front, which make it easy to hold out in front of you when vacuuming the stairs. Despite the decrease in power, this vacuum still does not loose suction and it is great for picking up large amounts of dirt and pet hair.
As with other Dyson vacuums that we have looked at, the canister is easy to remove, and also easy to clean and empty. The ball feature makes it easy to maneuver into small places and like the motto says, it can twist and turn on a dime. It handles much like a swivel headed mop and it works great on hardwood floors, replacing your hardwood floor sweeper.
Another strong point of Dyson vacuums is the removable HEPA filter. You might pay a bit more for a Dyson, but the HEPA filter is an added bonus, and it can be removed and cleaned separately. As with all Dyson vacuums, this one comes with a 5 year warranty when purchased new from the manufacturer. The lightweight DC24 is also easy to store away, as it takes up very little room.
